Addis Zaryan was born in Tehran, Iran. He came to the United States in 1986 to start a new life with his family by settling in Glendale, California. His background is in fine arts, computer graphics and animation design.
He has worked for many major animation studios such as Nickelodeon, Sony, Spumco, Disney and Cartoon Network and has designed character-based artwork for consumer products involving the classic and contemporary Disney characters, background design for animated cartoons, character concept art and color styling.
His favorite thing to do is illustration on his own time. He’ is a huge fan of the 1960’s stylized cartoons and children's book illustration style. He takes this style and creates simple portraits that have an Armenian feel to it. From a pencil sketch, he uses computer to finish the illustrations digitally.
He mainly does this to satisfy his “inner Armenian” and to preserve the national Armenian identity for the next generations to come. His artwork prints have been predominately displayed at Armenian festivals, and auctioned off at many fundraisers.
This site’'s only focus is his Armenian-based illustrations and products that go along with it.
